Is Toyota the Best Employer in Poland in 2025?

Polish automotive workers often cite Toyota as one of the most desirable employers in the country. Surveys back that up: the 2025 Randstad Employer Brand Research placed the automotive industry as Poland’s most attractive sector, with Toyota Motor Poland breaking into the national top ten just behind Volvo Poland. This puts Toyota ahead of many tech and finance heavyweights, thanks to its mix of job stability, skill development, and reliable benefits.

The question is, does this make Toyota the Best Employer in Poland in 2025?

Toyota in Poland 2025: Factories, Employee Count, and Workplace Culture

Toyota operates across both industrial and corporate fronts in Poland. It runs two major factories in Walbrzych and Jelcz-Laskowice under Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland (TMMP), which together have grown to employ over 3,400 people. On the corporate side, Toyota Central Europe Poland is the Warsaw-based sales and marketing hub for Toyota and Lexus and employs around 200 people. In total, Toyota’s direct operations in Poland provide jobs for more than 3,600 people.

Leadership stability has been a defining feature of Toyota’s growth in Poland. In June 2024, TMMP’s outgoing president, Dariusz Mikolajczak, who was succeeded by Masayuki Kojima, Vice President of Production in Wałbrzych, noted that he was leaving the organisation “in really good shape, with prospects for good investments in the future.”

Alongside operational growth and leadership changes, Toyota’s workplace culture has developed a strong identity of its own. The company stands out for its strong focus on gender diversity in manufacturing, a rarity in heavy industry. Toyota’s Walbrzych plant has steadily increased the number of women in manufacturing roles, with around 50 percent of the manufacturing team in its newest production area now made up of women. This effort earned TMMP the title of “Most Female-Friendly Company” in the regional “Kobiece Twarze / Women’s Faces” award in 2022, and has been repeatedly highlighted by Toyota Motor Europe as one of the company’s diversity success stories.

After union talks in early 2022, Toyota also granted average wage increases of about 11% for factory workers and raised bonuses, moves praised by union leaders as proof of the company’s commitment to staff welfare and retention.

2025 Employer Rankings: Toyota’s Place vs. Top Auto Rivals in Poland

Toyota regularly appears in Poland’s top employer rankings, even if it isn’t always number one. In the 2025 Forbes Poland and Statista Best Employers list, based on over 400,000 employee reviews, Toyota ranked among the top 300 companies nationwide. The overall top ten, however, was dominated by Adidas, Intel, and Hilton, with no automaker on the podium.

Within the automotive sector, Toyota’s standing is much stronger. In Randstad’s 2024 Employer Brand survey, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland ranked 3rd, ahead of Volkswagen Poland (4th) and Stellantis (6th). However, in 2025, Toyota slipped to 6th place as Volvo Poland climbed to 3rd.

In Universum’s Global Students Survey 2024, Toyota Poland pulled off #13 and #7 places in the Business and Engineering category, respectively.

Toyota’s good reputation for HR practices is also backed by Top Employer certifications and repeated appearances in Forbes lists, where Mercedes led in 2021, and BMW and Bosch followed in 2023. The competition among carmakers, Volvo, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and BMW, is tight, with each offering comparable benefits, training, and career security. The “best” largely depends on employee perception rather than measurable superiority.

Toyota Poland Salaries, Benefits, and Employee Reviews

Toyota’s internal reviews show a strong but balanced picture. On Glassdoor, its manufacturing arm holds a 3.8/5 rating, with 75% recommending the company slightly below Mercedes-Benz’s 4.1/5 and 84%. Workers cite strong pay, steady bonuses, subsidized meals, and transport benefits. “Great benefits and their pay scale is superior in the auto industry,” one reviewer noted. A Warsaw-based employee described the Toyota as “100% positive,” praising teamwork and fair management.

However, not all is perfect. The manufacturing roles can be demanding, with employees citingno work/life balance,” repetitive tasks, and limited family time. Earlier concerns over production pace and ventilation led Toyota to upgrade ergonomics and safety standards.

In offices, the culture is supportive but promotions can stall. “After mid specialist you cannot really be sure for the next promotion,” said one Wroclaw accountant, describing Toyota’s bureaucratic side.

Overall, Toyota’s strengths are competitive wages, job security, and family-friendly perks, including healthcare, training, and car discounts. Its weaknesses, such as tight schedules in plants and slow advancement in offices, mirror those seen at other major manufacturers.

Toyota is Among the Best in Poland, But Not an Unquestioned Champion

Is Toyota the best employer in Poland in 2025? The evidence points to a solid “near the top” position. Toyota is deeply respected for stability, discipline, and professional growth. Over two decades in Poland Toyota has built a reputation for fair treatment and strong development programs, making it a top destination for industrial and engineering talent.

In rankings and employee sentiment alike, Toyota stands out for financial stability, benefits, and brand trust. Yet, broader Polish worker preferences in 2025 lean toward tech, e-commerce, and global consumer brands that promise flexibility and faster career growth. Automotive, rivals like Volvo, BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, and Stellantis maintain comparable reputations.

Toyota’s challenge now lies in evolving with new workforce expectations: remote work flexibility, better work-life balance, and modern leadership. As it shifts toward electrification and next-generation mobility, retaining skilled staff will depend on keeping its people motivated, diverse, and involved.

Toyota remains one of Poland’s best automotive employers, respected, secure, and forward-looking. It shares the podium with other elite brands that match its pay and prestige. In a fast-changing labor market, Toyota’s greatest test will be staying adaptive enough to keep earning the title of a best employer year after year.
